ARC1231 Architectural Building Codes and Ordinances (AS)
Prerequisites:
ARC1131C, ARC1132C (with a grade of C or higher)
This course provides a practical introduction to the legal and regulatory framework governing building design and construction. Students will develop the ability to research, interpret, and apply local, state, and national building codes and ordinances. Emphasis is placed on structural requirements, fire protection, accessibility, sustainability, and energy efficiency. Through case studies and project-based applications, students will learn to identify code-related issues, propose compliant solutions, and communicate effectively with design and construction professionals.
