BCV0112 Introduction to Carpentry (CCP)
Corequisite: VPI0100, VPI0200, VPI0300
This Carpentry course provides students with foundational knowledge and practical skills essential for success in the construction and woodworking industries. Emphasis is placed on shop and construction site safety, the proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment, mathematical applications in construction, and the interpretation of construction drawings. Students will also explore material selection, fasteners, rigging, scaffolding, and sustainable design practices. Through hands-on projects and real-world scenarios, participants will gain the confidence to construct buildings, structures, and woodworking projects that meet industry standards.
