FFP2120 Building Construction for the Fire Service (AS)

Prerequisite: FFP1702 (with a grade of C or higher) or Department Chair approval

This course provides students with a basic understanding of both building construction components related to firefighter and life safety, as well as design and construction methods that will aid decision making processes concerning fire prevention and control. Structural design and construction elements affecting fire loads and behavior are shown to be key factors during building inspections, preplanning, and emergency operations.
