MAT0014 Math Foundations I (Dev Ed)

Prerequisite: Non-Exempt students will need to provide a PERT score of 50-95 or an ACCUPLACER score of 200-236. Corequisite: SLS1501

This course provides the beginnings of the transition from arithmetic to algebra for the purpose of preparing students for college credit-bearing mathematics courses. This course covers number sense, including ordinary operations on various types of numbers, rules for signed numbers, order of operations, and evaluation, as well as solving linear equations, proportions and inequalities. As it is primarily focused on number sense, calculators will not be allowed in this course. Successful completion requires a minimum score of 70%.
