Dr. Barbara Carey-Shuler Student Success Center

As part of its commitment to fostering student-centered learning experiences, Palm Beach State College established the Dr. Barbara Carey-Shuler Student Success Center in 2019. The Student Success Center is named after Dr. Barbara Carey-Shuler, a local philanthropist and former longtime educator and elected official. The Student Success Center supports the College's mission by empowering global change agents to achieve aspirational goals through transformative teaching and learning, creating pathways to opportunity and upward mobility for all students. Through an academic and community-based ecosystem that fosters resilience, we equip learners with the skills and support needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. Students who participate in the Center's offerings receive wraparound support, learn personal management skills, and develop their ability to advocate for themselves and utilize available resources to continue their personal and professional growth.
