2024-2025 Student Handbook

President’s Message

President Ava L Parker

Dear Students,

Welcome to Palm Beach State College! PBSC is in its 92nd year as Florida’s first public community college. Established in 1933, PBSC offers students a pathway to achieving their dreams and life goals.

Whether you are a new or returning Panther, this Student Handbook is a roadmap to help guide you on the road to academic and career success. In the pages of this handbook, you will learn about the resources, services, and activities designed to help you reach your full potential and keep you on track to graduate.

I encourage you to take full advantage of these student success resources, including the Student Learning Center, which offers free tutoring; Academic Advising, which assists students with developing an academic plan; and the Student Counseling Center, which provides mental health services at each of our campuses.

This handbook also provides important information on academic policies, campus safety, useful contacts, and webpage links. Please take time to review the content, including the Student Code of Conduct that encompasses PBSC’s values, culture, and community.

As a Panther, you are part of a diverse student body from all areas of the state, the nation, and more than 150 countries. Get to know your classmates and professors. Enrich your learning experiences by participating in extracurricular activities such student government, clubs, guest lectures, special events, and career-focused internships and practicums.

At PBSC, there are many opportunities to express your talents and interests. Stay Panther-focused on your graduation and career goals.

I wish you much success in the 2024-25 Academic Year!

Sincerely,

Ava L. Parker, J.D.
President Palm Beach State College
