ETP1322C Electrical Power System (AS)

This course teaches the science and provides an overview of electric power systems, including power generation, transmission, distribution and consumption. It introduces smart grid and demand-side management, including the benefits and impacts on utilities, energy policy and the environment. It covers the broad spectrum of sciences: electrical, mathematics, physics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid flow and communications. Lab component reinforces the concepts behind the modern electric grid, in particular related to Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
