Program Description
This program will prepare the participant for an entry-level job in the diesel service industry. Hands-on training in the labs in combination with the theory in the classroom will give the student a full understanding of employability skills, hands-on training, safety, and organization. The participant will be trained with the ASE Education Foundation Entry Level standards and testing, leading to student certifications in IMMR. Additionally, the program prepares students for 6 professional-level ASE certification exams. This program is accredited by the ASE Education Foundation www.aseeducationfoundation.org.
Admission Requirements
- No high school diploma or GED is required. (To be eligible to receive federal student aid, you must: Have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate, or have completed homeschooling)
- Send request for official high school transcripts, GED, or validated foreign equivalent to the Admissions Office.
Completion Requirements
- Students must successfully complete all courses listed in the catalog for this program.
- All financial responsibilities must be satisfied.
Program Length
Daytime: 600 clock hours - 20 weeks/ Evening: 600 clock hours - 30 weeks
Location
This program is offered at the Lake Worth and Belle Glade campuses.

Employment Opportunities
Upon completion of this program, students may seek employment as maintenance technicians in fleets, dealerships, quick lube shops, tire stores or independent service/repair shops related to the diesel industry. Students may choose to enter jobs as technicians, service advisors, parts specialists or entrepreneurs.
Career Path Notes
This program provides instruction in the inspection, maintenance and minor repairs area of medium heavy-duty vehicles. Student competencies to exit the program for employment are established by the Automotive Service Excellence Education Foundation.
