Employment Opportunities
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment of plumbers is expected to grow by 5% from 2020 to 2030, which is about as fast as the average for all occupations. As the population expands, plumbers will be needed to install and maintain plumbing systems in new homes, commercial buildings, and other structures built to accommodate this growth. Older buildings require plumbing upgrades to meet modern codes and improve water efficiency. The increasing focus on eco-friendly plumbing solutions, such as low-flow fixtures and smart water systems, also drives demand for skilled plumbers who can implement these technologies.
Career Path Notes
Students can start work in the plumbing industry and continue their education through apprenticeship programs.
