Academic Periods and Standard Academic Periods
Workday is designed with three standard academic periods in which PBSC sets up academic periods. Academic periods are set up with dates from the Academic Calendar and course sections need to be tied to one of the academic periods. However, Workday allows for flexibility to create sections with start and/or end date that are outside the academic period but within the standard academic period, but those sections still must be tied to an academic period. The suggestion is that these sections with different start and/or end dates be tied to the academic Full term. In Fall/Spring there are four academic periods and in Summer there three academic periods.
Below is the current standard academic periods and the term academic periods.
Standard Academic Periods
- Fall: August 15th – December 31st
- Spring: January 1st – May 14th
- Summer: May 15th – August 14th
Fall/Spring Academic Periods
- Full Term: 15 Week Term
- Express A: First 7.5 Week Term
- 12 Weeks: 12 Week Term
- Express B: Second 7.5 Week Term
Summer Academic Periods
- Summer Full Term: 12 Week Term
- Summer A: First 6 Week Term
- Summer B: Second 6 Week Term
