Instructional Credentialing Criteria

Academic and Professional Preparation

All degrees and course work must be obtained from regionally accredited colleges or universities.

Course Prefix
CTC Status (Designed for Transfer) CNC Status (Not Designed for Transfer) Requirements
NUR (AS)

NUR (AS) Master’s degree in Nursing

OR

Master’s degree and 18 graduate semester hours
in Nursing

AND

Current Active State of Florida licensure as a
Registered Nurse without restrictions, violations,
penalties, or disciplinary actions from practicing
professional nursing in the state. Florida
Statutes, Title XXXII, Chapter 464.

AND

Current 2-year certification for CPR BLS through
the American Heart Association

AND

(a) Maintain professional development in
teaching/andragogy best practices, AND (b)
maintain professional development in the
Nursing specialty areas of their assigned teaching
areas.

OR
(a) Maintain professional development in
teaching/andragogy best practices, AND (b) currently practicing as a registered nurse.

 

NUR (Lab/Clinical)

NUR (ATC)


Master’s degree in Nursing

OR

Master’s degree and 18 graduate semester hours
in Nursing

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and demonstrated
experience in clinical practice as a registered
nurse

AND

Current Active State of Florida licensure as a
Registered Nurse without restrictions, violations,
penalties, or disciplinary actions from practicing
professional nursing in the state. Florida
Statutes, Title XXXII, Chapter 464.

AND

Current 2-year certification for CPR BLS through
the American Heart Association

AND

(a) Maintain professional development in
teaching/andragogy best practices, AND (b)
maintain professional development in the
Nursing specialty areas of their assigned teaching
areas.

OR

(a) Maintain professional development in
teaching/andragogy best practices, AND (b)
currently practicing as a registered nurse.

 

For all Faculty: Ability to demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom; must be able to use the technology required for the assigned course.

Coursework within the degree must reflect competencies in the courses to be taught.
